Anyway, another sense of satisfaction was that the itinerary (planned by me, of course). I am glad the rest of the others followed it happily and also agreed it was good planning. At least the shopping activities were consolidated in one area at a time, so we did not have to rush here and there.
All in all, we managed to visit:
- Pratunam Market/ Baiyoke Market/ Indra Square
- Central World Plaza/ Zen/ Isetan
- Chatuchek Market
- Central Chidlom
- MBK
- Suan Lom night market
- Siam Square/ Centre
Doesn't seem like many places but with about 3.5 days of shopping there, it is quite enough!!
In addition, we ate lots of local Thai food everyday, to our tummys' satisfaction. "Tom Yum Goong", "Thai Beef Noodles", "Sticky Rice with Mango", "Paad Thai", etc. It was simply delicious & yummy! One good recommendation is the MBK food court, which houses all kinds of food from Thai to international. We instinctively headed for Thai food and it was with unanimous agreement that this food court had the best food we had since tasted in shopping centres or markets.
Another recommendation is this stewed chicken rice noodles in Chatuchek market. We observed for some time that this particular stall had the most customers - it was packed and people were all waiting. We decided to wait for an empty table too and we were rewarded! The noodles were simply delicious and they actually gave us a big chicken drumstick. It probably cost less than 2 SIN dollars for a bowl. But boy, I am still salivating when I think of this bowl of noodles. All my companions finished their food, including the soup! Hehe.. Yum Yum..
There was also this slightly more upmarket place we went to, called "Food Loft" at Central Chidlom. It was "Marche"- style local and international food. More expensive than normal food courts or roadside stalls but it's worth spending the money here. The local and international food is good, dining experience relaxed and comfortable and most of all, aircon!!
